Time To Get Off The Bench

Do you ever have weeks where you feel like you’ve been “benched”?!

I do. After a hectic week away for work, and an equally hectic few days at home, I was well and truly off my game when it came to keeping up with the 8 Week Tuffit Training programme.

I had been so pleased with my progress too, having managed at least 5 active days each week, and was really feeling the benefits. But then routine went out the window as I hit a busy patch. The worst part though was not the break from activity (although I did notice a drop in energy levels and felt more lethargic). The worst part was the predictable mental battle I fought to get back to it!

It’s amazing how easy it is to find excuses not to exercise once you’ve broken the habit!  But with a Tuffit, you can workout at home easily.

The solution? I’m afraid it is nothing special…you just have to make yourself do it! Pick the day and decide you are going to workout no matter what, even if it is just for 20 minutes at an easy level. Whatever it takes – just do something to get yourself in your gym kit and moving again.

That’s what I did yesterday. I decided I was going to get on with Week 5 come what may, and began with Cop A Squat 3 – a whole body workout at home for those feeling fair to middling!

As ever the endorphins kicked in and I felt 100 times better for having done something active after sitting at my desk all day.
