Fiona’s 6 Week Tuffit Challenge: “I have set goals, stuck to them and met them”
This is Fiona’s Story.
Fiona Parkes, 49, lives in Dalbeattie in Dumfries & Galloway. She’s been a superb competitor from start to finish with a great sense of humour – her weekly updates have really kept the Fit for Keeps team entertained!
We asked Fiona to tell us all about her experience of the Tuffit Challenge and she was happy to oblige! Here’s Fiona’s story, in her own words…
Hi Fiona! The 6 weeks have finished! How do you feel?
“Time flies when you’re having fun”. Fit for Keeps 6 weeks Tuffit Challenge completed, what now?
What have you taken or learnt from this experience as a whole?
From start to finish I have loved every minute, well, nearly every minute of the Tuffit Challenge. I feel energised, toned in fact I have an all round feeling of wellbeing.
I used to find it difficult to motivate myself into doing more exercise that would benefit my all round health, now I look forward to exercising, it just goes to show that with some encouragement, support and, of course, a great bit of kit what can be achieved.
Would you do it again?!
Absolutely no doubt that I would take part in the Tuffit Challenge again, it’s a no brainer.
What results have you had?
I am pleasantly surprised at the results I have had over the last 6 weeks my waist has diminished by an inch, I have gained a couple of pounds (muscle of course) which was one of my aims. I have more energy, I am not as sluggish on a morning or as grumpy, I have a more positive attitude and clearer mind & my resting heart rate has dropped from sitting at around 64-68 to 55-58 AMAZING or what?
How would I score the Tuffit for home fitness?
With the results I have experienced I would love to give it the perfect score BUT there’s always a BUT, nothing is perfect so I score the Tuffit a 9.7 out of 10.
I have a little story to tell – Shopping with a friend last week we walk into a shop and as I approach the counter the lady says to me “You have a lovely figure do you work out”? Well that was me half an hour later going on about the Tuffit Challenge giving her all the information about it she’s writing it all down saying “I will check it out on my tea break”. I have never, ever had another woman comment on my figure before, come to think of it nor a man!
What has been the best thing about the whole challenge experience?
What I have enjoyed about the Tuffit challenge is that I have had Jenny & Sarah behind me all the way, I have been able to do it at my own pace, I feel that I have achieved a lot in a short space of time; I have set goals, stuck to them and met them.
What has been the worst thing about the whole challenge experience?
I honestly can’t say there has been a worst thing it has sometimes been a struggle but then I have just adjusted things to fit my ability, that has been one of the great things about this challenge, it is flexible.
What would you say to someone who was thinking about hiring a Tuffit for home fitness use?
[Spoiler Alert: Fiona’s enthusiasm for our little Tuffit has given us all the feels! We promise they are all her own words! 😳]
I would like to say to all the people out there that keep putting off exercising until tomorrow or the next day or the next month “Just do it”! Hire a Tuffit for Free for 21 days and see how you get on with it, what a great opportunity to be able to try before you buy. I am telling you it is addictive you will not want to part with it once you have one it is PRECIOUS.
