What’s your relationship with fitness?
I have always led a fit and healthy lifestyle. As a child I had horses so spent my life growing up being outside and active. I have been a member of a gym for many years taking part in regular fitness classes, my own workout sessions and group cycling sessions. I also have a keen interest in yoga and promote the benefits of yoga and stretching as much as I can.
Do you always practice what you preach?
I tend to live with the principle of “everything in moderation”. I don’t follow restricted diets or strict regimes but I do try and workout at least 4 days a week. I always ensure that I have days off to rest and recover and let my hair down as this is important! Like everyone, I certainly have those days where I want to sit on the sofa in my pj’s and eat custard creams!
What do you think of the Tuffit?
I think it’s a great tool to get people exercising at any opportunity they can. Gyms are not for everyone and can be intimidating at times. The Tuffit gives you a chance to workout in the comfort of your own home. The workouts are fantastic with a wide variety of exercises to keep things interesting.
How have you found the Tuffit exercise classes so far?
I think they’re a great way to get people together and try out the Tuffit on a regular basis. The sessions are a fantastic mix of body weight exercises and Tuffit exercises which can be adapted depending on your experience.
What do you think of the Fit for Keeps concept?
It’s brilliant – anything that promotes getting fit and staying healthy in a realistic way gets my vote!
When it comes to training, what’s the most important piece of advice you give your clients?
Always stretch after every workout.
What are you looking forward to the most about leading Fit for Keeps exercise classes in North Yorkshire?
I’m most looking forward to helping new clients to realise that exercise is fun and accessible. I also hope they will see an improvement in their abilities and start to develop a love for fitness!
